David versus Goliath – Virtual IT Department with Virtual CIO

Growing financial services group exceeds expectations.

Snapshot

  • A privately held client wealth management group with over twenty years in business, 100 clients, and five hundred million of assets under management.
  • Business is growing via client development and acquisitions, expanding the footprint of financial services offered.
  • Business operates in a sector of ever-changing government rules and regulations
  • Business operates a trading floor to execute client trades for market securities, certified financial planners that work with clients, and a market securities research division.

Challenge

Management had two key objectives. First, rebuild a secure network infrastructure that could deliver the non-stop platform for time sensitive market operations, and for staff workplace needs. Second, build a disaster resilient solution that would meet or exceed solutions that larger financial services groups implement to protect their operations.

Solution

  • Prospera performed a full review of all operations, the software, and business processes that run the client’s operations, and worked with management to build a full disaster recovery plan that protects key operations from loss of site disasters, at a level not matched by larger competitors.
  • Design, implement, and manage a network infrastructure that is housed in a secure datacenter to protect critical systems from physical and virtual threats.
  • Migrate to a new server network platform, and secure digital assets of staff and clients from internal and external security threats.
  • Implementation of Prospera managing key network infrastructure, desktops, and servers with helpdesk, remote, and on-site services.
  • Maintain the ongoing assessment of the client environment with quarterly reviews and testing of disaster recovery plans, and bi-annual technology meetings to maintain the corporate technology plan.
