Nobody ever said software-licensing policies are easy,
and we won’t either. What we CAN tell you is that we have particular
expertise in working with software vendors and are able to assist
your software licensing and acquisition needs. There are two primary
areas of software licensing that are important to understand. They
include Available (almost) Everywhere and Available via Vendor Certification
(almost) Exclusively. If you think our descriptors sound confusing,
we’ve only just begun. And this is an attempt to eliminate
confusion!!!
Available (almost) Everywhere
For the most part, the primary software vendors whose products form
the core of most organizations’ generic workstation and PC
software needs are going to be available from just about any source
that sells computer “stuff”. These vendors include Microsoft,
Novell, Symantec, Veritas, etc. Some of these vendors do certify
resellers/integrators who are better equipped to “optimize” a
particular software installation/integration.
Prospera is certified with Symantec for Virus Protection, with Veritas
for Tape Back-up software, and with Microsoft, as certified Systems
Engineers.
Available via Vendor Certification (almost) Exclusively
For the most part, software vendors whose products require a certain
degree of advanced expertise to integrate successfully are going
to be available from only those resellers/integrators who the software
vendor has certified as a result of some degree of advanced training.
These vendors include CRM vendors such as Siebel, Onyx, Saleslogix,
Goldmine, etc; ERP vendors such as SAP, JD Edwards, Great Plains,
Macola, etc.
Prospera is certified with ServiceCEO for Service Industry enterprise
solutions, as well as with Tarantella for Thin Client and Remote
Connectivity solutions.
